Sabtech offers four different high performance peripheral replacement devices. They are all designed to be low-cost replacement options for aging naval devices that are difficult and expensive to maintain. Sabtech devices offer updated capabilities as well.
Shipboard Peripheral Replacement System™ (SPRS) SPRS replaces legacy navy peripheral equipment that is difficult and expensive to maintain. It combines the advantages of modern off-the-shelf technology with a robust mechanical design that allows it to meet the environmental specifications required for naval shipboard applications. It can be configured to achieve the right balance of cost and ruggedization.
Cartridge Tape Replacement System™ (CTRS) CTRS is a direct replacement for the USH-26 Cartridge Magnetic Tape Unit (CMTU). Reliability of the USH-26 hardware is an increasing concern. Dwindling supplies of tape cartridges are less reliable as they wear under normal use or as they age on the shelf. CTRS eliminates these problems along with the risk of losing irreplaceable data. Requiring virtually no maintenance, CTRS provides the ease of use, performance, and reliability needed to support the fleet for years to come.
Sabtech Military Equipment Replacement System™ (SMILES) Using up-to-date technology, SMILES replaces aging devices that are difficult and expensive to maintain. With an intuitive graphical user interface, SMILES operates exactly like the equipment being replaced so no program changes are required on the host computer. SMILES is easy to use while at the same time adding powerful capabilities not possible with the original equipment.
Sabtech Memory System™ (SMS) The SMS™ is a random access non-volatile data storage peripheral designed as a drop-in replacement for the military’s BMS1000X48008 Bubble Memory System (BMS). The SMS is form, fit and function compatible with the original BMS, making it easy to transition to the SMS. Power and I/O receptacles on the SMS are the same as those on the BMS so there is no need to re-cable. The command set used by the SMS is identical to the BMS and therefore requires no changes to applications written for the BMS.
