 Compatibility Q: What about VMEbus compatibility?
A: The VMEbus Interface Controller (VIC) used on all Sabtech VME NTDS boards was developed under the guidelines of the VMEbus International Trade Association (VITA). Sabtech chose to use this controller as it guarantees 100% compliance with the VME specification. The risk of incompatibility and non-compliance increases significantly with VME boards that are not designed with industry standard VMEbus Interface Controllers. Incompatibilities that surface in the latter stages of system integration can significantly impact schedules and costs. As VITA adopts new standards (e.g. VME64, VME64X, etc.), the Hawke™ family with its VIC controller, remains the only risk-free choice for VMEbus NTDS interface boards.
