SALES ENGINEER          (Posted  June 17, 2010)


SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Individual will be responsible for identification, qualification, and capture of DoD programs with specific focus on NTDS programs. Individual will be responsible for achieving new business as well as maintaining and growing current business. Responsibilities will include identifying, qualifying and developing capture strategies, competitive analysis, customer contacts, and preparation of bid-to-win strategies.

Candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Customer relationship management and communication of opportunities and issues to the team on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinating business development activities with other Sabtech teammates to maximize the ability to deliver solutions in the marketplace.
  • Report findings for major marketing, and manufacturing proposals and their impact on the sales function.
  • Participate in the central development and implementation of new products, re-launches, new business, sales rationale, etc.
  • Provides and/or initiate sales analysis.

Responsible areas of pursuit are opportunities with the Navy and Joint Forces agencies. Five or more years experience in DoD programs or business development/capture desired. Holding secret level clearance is a plus. Travel will be required.

Preferred work location is Orange County, CA, but will consider the greater San Diego area.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • DoD business development and capture, proven leadership qualities including entrepreneurial spirit, high energy, and ability to lead, marketing skills with ability to attract and interact with customers at all levels in civilian or DoD markets.
  • Engineering experience in electromechanical and circuit boards is a plus.
  • 2-3 years experience in circuit board and computer system sales/customer service.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 8 or more years of professional experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
